Our Story

I love what I do because encouraging the masses to eat their wine makes me happy! It’s that simple.

In 2004, CIA trained Pastry Chef Rachel Klemek founded Blackmarket Bakery with a simple approach – be adventurous in flavor and uncompromising with quality. Marche Noir Foods is the sub-brand and is the bakery’s more refined alias. Under this name Chef Rachel uses wine flour to create some truly unique and amazing products.

The story of a cabernet grape doesn’t end with the vintner’s crush. If dried and milled properly, the leftover skins or “pomace” becomes a nutritious and fragrant “flour” high in iron, fiber, omegas and Resveratrol. We’re very proud to offer our Cabernet Brownie and Pasta Caberneti product lines which are handcrafted in small batches to ensure the utmost quality and flavor. Chocolate lovers, wine & pasta enthusiasts plus the health conscious are sure to be pleased, and isn’t that just about everyone?
